The 12 Moves of Christmas with SHAPE Magazine!

Feeling festive babe? All of the twinkling lights, gorgeous wreaths, and stores full of sparkling holiday dresses give Manhattan Beach the perfect little sprinkle of holiday magic. Today on the Holiday Hustle Calendar, we’re challenging you to stop, drop, and give us 10 squats every time you hear a holiday song. We’ll be playing our holiday playlist all day at the HQ ;)

Along with your booty work, we’re sharing a workout we shot with Shape Magazine! Let’s just say we were feeling inspired by the upcoming holidays… Karena and I did a little digging in the holiday accessory bin 😂  So grab your dumbbells and Santa hat boo! This workout will get you in the spirit of the season while you sculpt your total bod.

Go through one round of the moves below!

Candy Cane

Sculpts your obliques!

Begin standing with your feet together. With a dumbbell in each hand, lift your right arm over your head and leave your left down beside you. With your core engaged, tilt toward your left side, reaching your right arm up and over your head.

Complete 15 reps, then switch sides.

Naughty or Nice

Tones your core and shoulders!

Begin in a forearm plank, keeping your hips level with your shoulders. With your core engaged, slowly raise your hips into the air, forming a triangle shape with your body. Lower down slowly into the starting position.

Complete 20 reps.


Tones your chest, triceps, and booty!

Start in a bridge position with feet firmly on the ground and hips lifted. Engage your core and booty as you extend your arms and perform a chest press. Lower down, bringing elbows out to your sides.

Complete 20 reps.


Tones your inner thighs, booty, and obliques!

Begin balancing on your left foot holding a weight in each hand by your sides. While balancing, bend your left knee and lower your upper body toward the ground, twisting your right arm across your body and tapping the weight to the ground. With control, slowly lift to the starting position.

Complete 15 reps, then switch sides.


Tones your entire core!

Begin on your back with your arms and legs extended out. Use your core to lift yourself off the ground. Crunch up and bend your knees into your chest. With control, lower yourself back to the ground.

Complete 15 reps.

Sleigh All Day

Tones your core, biceps, and shoulders!

Begin in a v-sit position, holding weights in both hands by your hips. While balancing with your feet lifted, perform a bicep curl then press your arms up over your head. Reverse the movement and return to starting position.

Complete 15 reps.

Gingerbread Woman

Tones your booty and back!

Begin laying on the floor face down with your arms and legs extended. Keeping your glutes engaged, lift your chest, arms, and legs off the floor at the same time. Hold for a few seconds, then slowly lower back down.

Complete 20 reps.


Tones your hamstrings and booty!

Begin in a tabletop position with a dumbbell behind your right knee. Lift your right leg up, keeping your leg at a 90-degree angle. Slowly lower back down.

Complete 15 reps, then switch sides.

Ice Skates

Raises your metabolism and tones your booty, quads, and core!

Start with your feet together, standing straight up. Hop out to your left side and lunge your right leg behind you and to the left, so that you land in a curtsy lunge. Push off your left leg and land in a curtsy lunge with your right foot in front. Continue alternating sides.

Complete 10 reps on each side, 20 reps total.

Mrs. Claus Curtsy

Sculpts your booty, quads, and shoulders!

Begin standing with your feet hip-width apart, dumbbells by your sides. Step your right foot back and to your left, making sure that your front knee doesn’t go past your toes. As your lower, raise your arms to shoulder height, making sure you maintain a slight bend at your elbows. Push off your right foot and slowly lower your arms to return to start.

Complete 15 reps, then switch sides.

Snowball Toss

Boosts your metabolism and tones your core, inner thighs, and booty!

Begin with feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart at a 45-degree angle. Sit back with dumbbell swinging between your legs and bring forearms to inner thighs. Thrust your hips forward as you raise your chest to a standing position and raise dumbbell. Switch hands, then lower back down to start.

Complete 10 reps on each side, 20 reps total.

Christmas Tree

Tones your biceps!

Begin balancing on your left foot with your right foot resting on your left inner thigh. With your core engaged, slowly raise your weights toward your chest. Lower weights back down.

Complete 10 reps, then switch legs.
