Top 3 Ways to Find Motivation… #BIKINISERIES

WOW… you’re all doing so amazing with the BIKINI SERIES!  Karena and I are blown away by the response so far!  It seems like everyone and their mother is doing the BIKINI SERIES… no really, not an exaggeration… all of our friends and their mammas are doing the challenge!!!   We’re so happy and we have YOU to thank!!! :) :)

We’ve seen a couple questions about finding motivation and what makes us get up in the morning for our workouts, so we decided to put together our Top 3 ways to find motivation during the BIKINI SERIES!

PS– if you haven’t signed up yet, it’s not too late! And girl, what the heck are you waiting for!? Sign up HERE!

Sit back and ask yourself… “Why am I doing this?  What is my ultimate goal?  What is holding me back?  How can I overcome my obstacles?”  When you start asking yourself the right questions… you are the only person with the answers.  Dig deep and find out what is really holding you back.  You can do what no one else can… and that’s getting that tush out of bed in the morning and starting your day by taking care of YOU!  So much of the day is taking care of others whether you have a high-paced job, you’re a mom, nurse, a teacher, personal trainer… the list goes on!  It’s okay to take care of yourself first.  Read some of our top tips HERE on getting that workout in first thing in the morning :) Or even late at night!  Sometimes we find ourselves jogging at 8pm or heading to the gym late, because we know how much better we’ll feel when we go to sleep.  The more you take care of yourself, the more love you can give in your life.

Also, for any of you that have taken a bootcamp with us, we always ask you right before you want to quit those planks, burpees or squat jumps… “Why are you here?”  Did you show up, all dressed up for a workout to quit or to see it through?  Did you really drive yourself to the gym to just sit there on your phone or to stop when it gets hard?  Next time you want to quit, ask yourself why you are there in that moment… in that class, on the pavement running or in your living room working out with us.  You’ll know the answer and we promise you’ll keep pushing through!  Push your limits!

2. Journal!

There’s nothing more powerful than a journal.  To us, a journal is one of the best tools you can have in your fitness journey.  It’s something that we really encourage in the Tone It Up Nutrition Program. Taking just a few moments a day will keep you centered, motivated and honest with yourself.  It’s the one thing I do before bed every night!

You’ll also be SO excited that the Tone It Up Journals are back in stock TODAY and are now available to purchase at!!

This journal goes along perfectly with your 8 Week Bikini Meal Plan— which is also so awesome and motivating!

What motivates YOU!?

Leave a comment below. You never know who you could be inspiring!

  1. Chrissi Dii says:

What motivates me? My besties, my gal pals, my rocks! Seeing results and eating right motivates me, because I feel so powerful and energized throughout the day! It’s incredible. And all those TIU girls – they are so motivating, because they encourage and compliment each other everyday all day. And those Motivation Monday blog posts of you, Karena and Katrina, are really helpful, too. There are so many ways.. find yours!

  2. Brandi McAtee says:

What motivates me is when my co-workers tell me I’m crazy for getting up at 4:45am to workout then turn around & do toning circuits once I clock out. It gives me that edge to push myself further & tell them “you may think I’m crazy but look how crazy positive I am, look how much energy I’ve got!” I love being that positive reinforcement in the office that can spark laughter & love. Also, if it wasn’t for TIU community & seeing all of their checkins first thing when I wake up, I would probably hit the snooze 3 times before grudgingly rolling out of bed. We hold each other accountable & depend on one another to carry us along this journey.

  3. Irena says:

Girl you are so inspirational, not just in sense of BS but also like a life inspiration! I want you all the best! Keep that positive spirit and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy life!! :))

  4. TIU Emma says:

I check instagram every morning before my bootycall – seeing all the girls who have already completed their morning workouts motivates me. Also, the TIUUK girls chat every day for extra motivation to get moving!

  5. Maggie says:

I get my motivation from many places. I always check instagram before my bootycall. That gets me out of bed!! When I’m doing a challenging workout I do ask myself “why did you start & why would you quit now?!” It really works. I also have a lot of people in my life that are controlled by food & health issues. I’ve made a promise to myself to be the healthiest and strongest that I can be so I can live a long and fulfilling life! The Tone It Up community is so motivating and I’ve connected & met some really wonderful women! I’ve gained so much confidence since joining TIU & when I look in the mirror I see my smile. This happy & healthy me motivates me to keep going, don’t look back & to be better than I was yesterday!

  6. karli_tonesup says:

I get my motivation from my husband! He works a crazy schedule but still wakes up every morning at 4:30am to hit the gym, then gets home late and still has energy to take our two younger boys out to play soccer or baseball before the sun goes down even though I know he’s exhausted :) He’s been beyond supportive of this Bikini Bikini series and I couldn’t feel more motivated to wake up every morning and show him my workout check-ins :)

  7. Izabella says:

I get my motivation from something as simple as workout clotheS! When the clothes fit right, are comfy and matching I feel like I can conquer the world!! or just the TIU workout :P I also get a lot of motivation from my best friend that loves working out as much as I do!!

  8. Tara Fatzinger says:

What motivates me? My husband and our visions for our future together. We are trying really hard to start our family and have, thus far, been unsuccessful. Some days it’s really hard to keep this healthy lifestyle going; especially when it would be far easier to quit. But when I think about the future and I imagine my husband and our future children, all I want is to be a healthy, active wife and mother. I want to be able to keep up with my children and actively participate in their lives and activities. I want us to experience amazing things like camping, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, etc. as a family. haha I know this all may sound excessively deep and a little sappy but these are the things I think about, what keeps me going. To me, fitness is not just a passing fad or once in a while activity. Fitness is necessary for overall health and should include long-term goals as well as the short term ones, like looking good in a bikini this summer. :-)

  9. DaniMama_TIU says:

My daughter and my husband are my motivation. If I don’t get off the couch, or take care of myself, one day my daughter will most likely pick up my bad habits. If I am a champion of myself now, If I wake up early, workout and have a positive attitude and more energy throughout the day, she will see me as an energetic and positive mother, not a mother stuck on the couch, and hopefully she will want to be a positive and energetic girl too. I will love her for whomever she becomes, but I need to know that I did my best to be a positive role model because mom’s are the biggest role models in a little girls life!
My husband is a motivation because I’ve realized that I am a more enjoyable person who can handle stress more even handedly when I workout daily and eat healthy. My husband is my rock and I don’t want us to become a negative statistic of marriage. I want to be the best person I can so our marriage can flourish with positive energy. I want to be mentally, physically and spiritually strong for the tough times.
Lastly, I am my own motivation. I know what I want out of life. I can see who I want to be, and not achieving those goals drives me to work harder. I want to be my best self for myself as well. I want to reap the rewards of a healthy, beautiful body, mind and spirit.
Seeing Karena & Katrina and the TIUTeam working out and eating right makes me want to obtain that killer body and killer meal plan! You ladies give me a goal to run towards! So Yes, the TIUCommunity is my 4th motivation!!!! Thank you Karena & Katrina for providing an amazing platform for us women to achieve our best selves!!!

  10. Ashley Anne Schjoneman says:

My goals motivate me. I always look to the future and see myself on vacation on the beach. I want to feel good about my body and be confident. So those tiny thoughts every day get me pumped and ready for my TIU bootycall workout. Every workout adds up to big changes!!

  11. Michele Powers says:

If you bought the bikini bundle and didn’t receive a journal I still think it should be shipped to you now that its back in stock. We paid full price.

  12. Brooke says:

What motivates me? My love and passion for my friends and family. When I’m happy I am able to make others happy, and nothing makes me happier then being a healthy and active person. It’s incredible the way I feel after I’ve eaten healthy that day and have a really good workout once I’m done with work. It’s funny because when I have a rough day I tend to let my anger out and vent to my boyfriend and my boyfriend has now resulted to, “I’ll just wait and see you after you workout,” because he knows how much a little exercise betters my mood. As Beyonce has said, “My inspiration in life is to be happy.” Love me some Beyonce :)

  13. Shirley Salerno Camilleri says:

The mirror motivates me….if I can look in the mirror and honestly say I love what I see and the person looking back at me….it makes me feel like I am achieving something and making myself the best I can be….it may be hard at times getting up at 5:30am on a cold snowy day here in Toronto, Canada but when you fit into a nice pair of skinny jeans and say…”yup I look good” its all worth it….xoxo

  14. kcmolori says:

What motivates me is showing my son that when you set a goal and achieve it, it is the most rewarding thing in the world. No matter what the goal is, accomplishing something you put your mind to is powerful!

  15. Dana says:

Amazing Charis!!! Good luck to you and your momma!!

  16. Elizabeth Delly says:

Seeing how far Ive come in the past year and the changes in my body and all over happiness motivate me. I never want to go back to the unhappy girl I was before finding TIU! Plus my #tiusisters motivate me with their bikini bods! I cant be the slacker in the group! haha

  17. Katrina Whitney says:

I have twin sister and we made a deal to motivate each other. And often we work out together but shes been out of the country so now its even more important to motivate each other so we will send texts, take pictures and keep accountable with each other, Its just a great thing to have at least one person to help you through your journey – without her not sure id be where I am today!

  18. Emily Gerde says:

What motivates me is family and friends. My husband and I will be starting a family soon and I want to healthy for them. I want to be healthy for our other familes. I want to show others that you can be healthy and happy! I want to be a role model and be fit so I can be there for them – family vacations, friends outings, when they need someone strong! For me, being healthy means being happy. I want to be able to experience as much as I can in life and not be held back by my fitness level or anything else! Life is meant to be lived!! I can’t deny, that I also want to feel happy in my own skin – rocking a bikini or anything else I want to wear! We all can do this, we have to dig down deep sometimes, but it’s there, and it will all make us so much stonger physically and emotionally!!

  19. Katie Luby says:

This pregnancy! I’m 5 months into my 1 pregnancy and is hasn’t been great but it hasn’t been real bad eaither. I’m a member of TIU and doing the Bikini Series as well as ca! Yall are my motivation as well as my TIU girls in Oklahoma!

  20. Annie says:

My daughters….when I see them exercising like Mommy and making healthier food choices I know all the hard work is 100% worth it. A bikini ready body is a very close second! ;)

  21. Honestly my son motivates me… I want to be strong rested energized and fit to be there for him to play all day or have the strength to carry him when he is tired or should he ever get stuck hurt or fall down.

  22. Vanessa Crist says:

All of you are motivating me! After reading all the discussions I feel more motivated to keep going and not give up. I was actually just sitting here thinking about eating a big muffin and decided to read about everyone’s motivation. Now I am not eating the muffin and instead have an apple and a protein shake and tea. I will be working out this afternoon. Thank u all for keeping me inspired! :)

  23. Cassie says:

I need motivation help!!!! I used to love my morning booty calls but have really gotten out of the fitness routine. Most mornings I am up by 4:30 and don’t get home from work until 8:30pm. I barely have time to eat lunch so working out then is not an option. I want to get back into the grove but just don’t know where to even fit it in with work and nursing school some days I feel like I need more hours in the day. Any suggestions would really help (except quitting my job &/or school ;). Thanks

    1. Becky Bella says:

I know how tough it can be to stay on track with fitness while working and going to school. I say, even if you can only work out one or two days per week, that is a good way to maintain your fitness efforts rather than quitting altogether due to a busy schedule. It will also help to maintain a healthy diet. Best of luck!

      1. Cassie says:

Thanks Becky. I need to remember even a little is better than nothing

  24. Cassie says:

That is amazing! So happy for you and your family that you will be able to help your mom!

    1. Charis Abrams says:

Thanks, I know my mom has got to be the happiest! Seeing her smile and have full energy again it’s the key!!

  25. Emily says:

What motivates me is my health. Heart disease runs in my family, it also goes hand in hand with overweight and obesity. One time I was having a conversation with my mom about the heart conditions and she said I should be aware of symptoms because it will happen to me too. I’ve decided to give myself the best chance in life. Be healthy and hopefully never have to experience what other members of my family have and be as strong as possible both mentally and physically. I also love the challenge at times. See how far I can push myself and seeing and feeling the improvements.

  26. Anne B. says:

my future motivates me. I want to be healthy and fit.

  27. Nicole Schottler says:

Several things motivate me. Knowing I’ll feel energized after a workout. Knowing that I’m setting a positive example for my boys. Wanting a fitter version of me. The history of obesity and health issues in my family. Having a challenge and being accountable. I’ll exercise in the morning, on my lunch break, before dinner, after the kids are in bed – when ever I can do it to get the day’s challenge in.

  28. Jacqueline says:

My grandmother who at 70 was more active then I was with excersise and dragon boating.

  29. Christine Nelson says:

what motivates me is how far i’ve come (down 70 pounds so far) and thinking my fitness motto which is “The time is going to pass anyway so I might as well try” :)

    1. Charis Abrams says:

Congrats girl! Keep up your hard work! You’ve got this!

  30. Christina says:

The community definitely motivates me. Looking through IG you see all of these busy women making time for some sort of workout. If they can, so can I. Also Ive come so far on my own weightloss and fitness journey, that I know I have to keep going. I have to see it through. How can I quit after Ive made such great progress? I can’t.

  31. What motivates me is negativity! Whenever I encounter hate or any refutes from others saying I can’t do something or I’m only this and that, I prove them wrong! The best reward is not just their reaction, but my personal gain!

  32. Katherine says:

What motivates me is knowing that I want to be an active mom when the time comes!

  33. Emily Whitcomb says:

What motivates me to keep going is my family and my boyfriend, I could not keep going towards my goal without them! I have struggled with my weight for years and being a baker it has been hard to not snack when I’m at work :) Also I am so motivated by all the women in this program and too see other women pushing towards their goals is amazing! I am so thankful that I found Tone It Up! Keep up the great work ladies!

  34. Question: when buying the nutrition plan, do I have to choose which version, or are all available? For example, will I have access to both the gluten-free and regular versions if I choose, or do I need to declare? Thanks!

  35. Tina says:

That was so moving and I had actual tears in my eyes. I hope you and your Mom are feeling good right now,
    lots of love
