We all scream for Ice Cream!


There’s nothing like a sweet, frozen treat on a warm summer day! If you’re craving a healthy indulgence, you’ll love these Tone It Up Nutrition Plan approved recipes…


There are so many ways to indulge your sweet tooth while staying on track… it’s all about using fresh, naturally sweet ingredients! These ice cream recipes really hit the spot when you’re craving a summertime treat. Speaking of staying on track, did you see our new list of healthy ingredient swaps!? FIND IT HERE!

Now, on to the ice cream…


(vegan & gluten free)

  • 2 frozen bananas (peel, slice & freeze at least 3 hours beforehand)
  • 1 kiwi, peeled & frozen
  • 1/4 Avocado, frozen
  • Handful of fresh mint
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 Tbs Cashews, preferably soaked in water for a few hours and drained
  • Splash of coconut water ~ Add just enough to allow mixture to blend


Add all ingredients to food processor or high speed blender and blend baby, blend! Serve immediately or place mixture in the freezer and blend it up again, right before serving. TIP: soaking your cashews beforehand helps give your ice cream a creamier consistency.


  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • Splash of coconut water
  • Squeeze of lemon

Mango Layer: Add mango & coconut water to the food processor and process until smooth. TIP: Place sorbet in freezer while you blend up the next layer to keep it frozen!

Strawberry Layer: Add strawberries & lemon to the food processor and process until smooth. Layer both sorbet flavors in a  mason jar or glass, garnish and serve!

    I’ve tried both of these and they are both so delicious! I was a little skeptical of the mint chocolate chip but it was amazing! So fresh and creamy!

    I love love love ice cream! Of course, I am Italian! How could I not love GELATO!!!! Everyone is always scared of the calories in a gelato and does not know that fruit falvors do not contain milk! they just have sugar (sometimes just fructose) and water added. Therefore they are perfect as a half-day snack or post workout nutrients recovery food!

    what can you sub the banana with? I am allergic !!! Would coconut milk be appropriate? Or a different fruit make it creamy? I have an ice cream machine so I was planning on using that
