Build Your Own Healthy LA Street Tacos!
Morning beautiful! Who’s ready for the weekend? We’re home in Los Angeles for the TIU Tour today and it’s such an honor to be able to share this experience with all our local TIU babes.
We’ve both lived in LA for years and now it’s home for us. The sunshine, the beaches, the hikes, the happy vibes…we love everything about this city. And of course the food 🙌🏻 LA is known for its delish tacos. There are so many amazing little local spots here so we were inspired to create our own TIU approved version for you! Girls’ night in menu…set! 🌮💃🎉
LA Street Tacos
Create your ultimate #TIUapproved taco by mixing and matching any of the ingredients below!
Start with your base
2 corn tortillas per serving ~ you can heat these up in the oven or microwave before serving!
Add in your protein (pick 1-2)
1/4 cup black beans, warmed on the stovetop
4 oz. cooked grilled chicken
4 oz. cooked ground lean meat
Mix in your veggies (pile on as many as you want!)
2 Tbsp. fire roasted corn, thawed and heated on the stovetop
1 tsp. diced jalapeño
1/4 cup diced red onions
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup chopped romaine lettuce
1/4 cup diced bell pepper
Get a lil’ saucey (pick 1-2)
1/4 cup pico de gallo
1/4 cup pineapple salsa
1/4 cup mango salsa
A few dashes of hot sauce
You can also make your taco naked ;) If you want to skip the tortilla, mix up your proteins, veggies, and sauces in a bowl and enjoy!
And of course pair it with a marg ;) We love this Spicy Grapefruit Margarita!
1 large grapefruit, sliced and juiced
1 jalapeño, sliced
1 tsp. honey
2 oz. tequila
1 oz. Triple Sec or Cointreau
Low-sodium chili lime seasoning for garnish
Shake up grapefruit juice, sliced jalapeño, honey, tequila & Triple Sec (or Cointreau) w/ ice for 10 – 15 seconds. Rim 2 glasses w/ salt & low-sodium chili lime seasoning. Pour over ice & enjoy!! Recipe makes 2! 💃
