Summer Beauty Tips!

Katrina and I LOVE talking about beauty~ we have so much fun getting ready, trying out new hairstyles and discovering new products. I’ve always seen make-up as just one more way that I can express myself. I wear bold colors if I’m feeling bold, softer muted shades if I’m feeling calm or a cat eye if I’m feeling… frisky! I’m always experimenting with new looks. Katrina likes to mix things up with neutral, earthy colors. Her signature look is natural and bronzy, and it works! She loves make-up and styling so much she does friend’s hair and make-up for weddings and events! She’s super talented and is always sharing some awesome beauty tricks and tips.

We’re sharing our TOP tips and pointers for that sultry beach babe look. My favorite self-tanner is definitely Tarte Brazilliance™ Skin Rejuvenating Maracuja Body Self Tanner; it goes on so smooth, looks natural (Even on my face & neck), and shows up within 4-6 hours

    1. MsDinoGal says:

I love the guide on that tanner too. At first I thought it had too much purple in it, but once I put it on it looks so much more natural than other tanners/guides. I think the purple helps tone down the orange-y-ness that you can sometime get.

  2. Ashley Anne Schjoneman says:

Love these tips and product recommendations! Can’t wait to see the new tutorial :)
*And I’ve been using coconut oil as a moisturizer and my skin soaks that up!! I’m pretty dry so it works like a charm. I love applying right out of the shower so my skin can really absorb the oil. Love!! :)

  3. brittany says:

Is the coconut oil good as a face moisturizer as well? My forehead is extremely dry so I’m wondering if this might finally be my answer

    1. Erin says:

I definitely use the coconut oil on the face but very sparingly and only at night. During the winter my cheeks and nose were extremely dry and it worked well. Also works great as an eye make-up remover

      1. Sandy Suy says:

I agree with Erin and Linzey. Yes coconut is always a good idea, with so many uses it is worth getting it organic and cold pressed. but it can leave the skin too oily so using it overnight and taking it off with your normal morning cleanser is a good idea but do what’s best for your skin! It is also a natural anti-bacterial so it is okay to cover boo boos and safe to consume, I use it on babies and on top of my dogs food!

    2. Linzey Hypes says:

Coconut oil is perfect for everything, I use it on my face (sensitive/dry) and it works really well

  4. Elyssa Ezmirly says:

I would love to know what kind of eyeliner and mascara you girls use- I can’t seem to find an eyeliner that’s not too expensive, but also stays on a ll day. Love the video by the way! :-)

    1. Nikki says:

My favorite eyeliner is Tarte SmolderEyes eyeliner. It’s a thick pencil so pretty easy for me to just swipe over each eye. Favorite mascara hands down is Benefit’s They’re Real. Maybelline The Rocket is a great dupe for it. Hopefully those help you!

  5. Erin says:

I’m definitely not the only one who went to purchase the Tone It Up lip balm and found it wasn’t posted, right? :(

    1. Trina Balston says:

It’s been out of stock since the start of the Bikini Series :) Hopefully back in stock soon tho!

  6. Heidi says:

K&K, how do you use Bumble and Bumble? Your hair always looks so amazingly beachy! Is it a long process? Or have you perfected the technique? ;)

  7. Madrina Cracker says:

In love with all of this!! Got my new shopping list! I second the Tarte cheek stains! I have a Karena & Katrina inspired “beachy” look video…If any of you are interested

  8. aliwos says:

dang… was definitely hoping for a new video! can’t wait to see the hair and makeup tutorial you showed in a vlog recently!

    1. Adeline says:

Me too – I loved this video last summer and was hoping for a new one! I thought I mastered the eyeliner look but Karena is clearly the one who does, so I had my fingers crossed for her tips on achieving that look. Ach well, looking forward to the hair tutorial!

  9. Diana says:

Eco Tan by Sonya is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE certified organic sunless tanner!! They have a gradual tanner lotion (that smells amazing and does wonders for the skin) and also a quick overnight tanner that’ll get the job done! They smell so great and the color is very natural. Since it is an Australian brand I usually purchase from their distributor in the US, Organic Skin USA. They offer free shipping anywhere in the US: I use their mint body wash and pink Himalayan salt scrub too.. everything from Eco Tan is amazing and organic! I highly recommend!

    1. Nicole says:

This sounds awesome! I will have to check it out!

  10. samantha says:

aw i was really excited for this video but it looks like its the same post and video from last summer :/ thanks anyways girls. looking forward to some new tips and tricks! xo

  11. Sandy Suy says:

this was so fun to watch! I love the variety of products but it seems they are struggling to find quality products that are natural. If you’re interested in a high end, affordable, vegan, safe, and wonderful company go to! I’ll be happy to share 15% percent off with my tiu sisters!

I have the VS bronzer and love it, I also use 3D lashes by Younique, and am still looking for the perfect lip Color to try. I also use the RE9 skin care line from Arbonne that has saved my skin. Being in the Florida sun really has taken a toll on my face. The toner and intensive renewal serum are my absolute fav! I have darker lips so most brands are too sheer and don’t cover well!! Any tips?!

  12. karli_tonesup says:

Yeah! Thanks gals, loved all this information! I’m such a tomboy when it comes to this stuff so I can use all the help I can get. Love the idea of using coconut oil as a body moisturizer and under the eyes, I use it as a deodorant on days I know I won’t be too smelly or if I’m just doing stuff around the house, that stuff is so versatile!!

  13. Challene Shoun says:

Thank you so much for all the beauty tricks! I will be sure to check them all out! I use Bareminerals for my spf and foundation and love it. I have never tried a self-tanner and so I will have to check them out. I use Meadow Creek Boutique’s lip balms from Etsy and they are amazing!!

  14. Silvia says:

oh, man. I thought this was a new video! boo!

  15. I love that your guys’ makeup isn’t cakey and flashy. It’s neutral, classy and perfect for the summer! And coconut oil is a MUST! I mix it with avocado and lemon juice to make the perfect face mask!

  16. Rachel says:

SW Basics has great all natural skin care if you guys are looking for something simple! All their products have between 3-5 ingredients. My favorite is the makeup remover, it doubles as a moisturizer and I use it on my face almost everyday, you barely need any so it lasts forever too!

  17. lisa says:

Just wondering (though you probably don’t have this problem) how do you get rid of dark circles under the eye? I would love for the area ynder my eyes to look flawless and and even instead of dark and sunken in

  18. jojo1090 says:

i like not your mother’s beach babe spray! Bumble and Bumble spray is good but if you want a cheaper option that works just as well ( if not better) check this spray out! You can find it at walgreens, target etc.

  19. Marie hugger says:

coconut oil is great for taking your makeup off as well! it even takes waterproof off so easily!

  20. Amelia Wachtin says:

Josie Maran just came out with a argan oil self tanner! It has DHA from beets and is made completely with natural and organic ingredients. I didn’t believe it at first, but it is super natural!! It gives a nice subtle golden natural glow. I am now obsessed!!!

  21. I love your guys’ makeup! So refreshing and gorgeous! BTW coconut oil is the best!!

  22. Shelby Hoke says:

you guys should check out Eco Tan! AMAZING natural sunless tanner. xoxo

  23. Ashlee says:

Arbonne has a brand new and amazing sunless tanner! And it’s all natural and vegan, and made without any harsh chemicals :)
