Valentine’s Day Girlfriend Gift Guide

I don’t know what it is about Valentine’s Day that I love so much… maybe it’s the red hearts everywhere, the endless chocolates, the expression of love through Valentines, the pink champagne… or that my parents met on Valentine’s Day… yes way! :)

Every year, I send my friends Valentine’s Day gifts to tell them how much I love them… and well, any excuse to send a naked chocolate man, right? This year I’m mailing gifts to a couple of my longtime girlfriends in Boston, one of my gal pals who just moved to a new city and to my grandma~ I just picture her all cozy in Connecticut receiving a box filled with amazing gifts and it makes my heart melttt.  She also says she hands out the extra chocolates at her assisted living place, because she can’t possibly finish them herself- I clearly did not inherit this.

So here it is… my girlfriend gift guide for this Valentine’s Day.  Hopefully my friends (and grandma) don’t see this before they receive their packages on Friday. And if you’re reading this, LOOK AWAY GIRLS, LOOK AWAY!!!!!!

  1. I love the idea of making valentine’s day more than just a “couple” holiday and just being a celebration of LOVE! My mom and I always get each other valentines :) Definitely will be sending some girlfriend’s valentines too this year, thanks for the ideas!

  2. Can’t wait for the sugar cookie and truffle recipes! I will be snuggling up with my puppy and doing a little meal prep- I’m going to make Perfect Fit donuts in a heart shape donut pan. Because what’s better than PF donuts? Heart shaped ones. :)

  3. I love the ideas! I Always send my mom and grandmother a Valentine’s card and also receive a card from them back!
And you just look like your mom!

  4. Thanks for sharing! Will be getting those truffle recipes as well?! Or are they in one of our plans? I’m at work sneaking this or I’d check muahahah

  5. LOVE this! These are such awesome ideas. I can’t wait to put something together for my family and friends (and to make those truffles!!!). I love a celebration of any kind – and when pink, hearts, and glitter are involved, it just makes it even sweeter! <3

  6. I absolutely love this! This year I really want to show love not only to my hubby but to my closest girl friends too! Thanks K&K

  7. How cute, that hey met on Vday!!! ♥♥♥ I think it’s amazing when you see your parents still crazy in love after lots and lots of years of marriage… Everybody deserves that!

  10. LOVE this post! I may have to try and get some of those truffles made in the wee hours of the morning before and after work! No big plans since I own a bakery for Valentine’s. My boyfriend loves that he is FOREVER off the hook on Valentines.

  11. Plans with girlfriends, DUH! A couple of my TIU gal pals and I will be spending Galentine’s Day working out, brunching, and hitting up the theater to see ‘How To Be Single.’ It’s going to be the best Galentine’s Day EVAR! Sistas before Mistas! ;p

  12. My sister and I are having a beauty pamper day with our line of organic apothecary along with our favourite local chocolates.

  13. Trying to make the sugar cookies today! The dough smells delicious but isn’t thick enough to use the cookie cutter. Are we supposed to add the greek yogurt to the dough mix or only use that for the frosting? I would love to know!! :)
