DIY WAYS TO PAMPER YOURSELF!

Today, we’re giving you a free pass to unwind. You deserve it! It’s time to relax and recharge with a few simple, easy ways to pamper yourself. No appointment necessary ;)

Give your sexy self some much needed TLC with these easy, do-it-yourself beauty solutions! Think of it as a SPA day at home. But first, turn on some soft music and pour yourself a glass of fruit-infused water.

COCONUT DREAM CREAM

This is the ultimate, all natural, ultra hydrating moisturizer! And there are no high price tags or fancy beauty stores needed! It’s super easy to make, and you’re body will love you for it. You already know we like to use coconut oil in tons of recipes and as a kitchen hack moisturizer and here’s how to take it up a notch:

Use a high-speed mixer to whip up 1/2 to 1 cup of coconut oil with a few drops of essential oil (we love vanilla, lavender or citrus). Be sure coconut oil is solid and not soft when you start to beat it. After a few minutes you’ll find the mixture transformed into a luxuriously soft moisturizer. This also makes a great gift for girlfriends. Simply divide the lotion in cute mason jars and gift away :)

GLOWING FACE OIL 

Luxe face oils are definitely something to covet. Most are all natural and brimming with glow-inducing ingredients, so what’s not to love? Well, the price tag, that’s for one! For a simple, less expensive and customizable way to get the benefits, mix up your own and apply a thin layer at night and/or underneath make up. The key is to use high quality oils that quickly absorb into your skin.

Start with a base of either Sweet Almond oil or Rose Hip Oil, or even a mix of the two. These are great, skin nourishing oils you can easily find in health food stores or online.

Next, add a few drops of 1-2 of your favorite essential oils. These can be pricier, but since you just need a few drops, they will last a while! Feel free to do some research to find which will work best for your skin. Always mix essentials oils with a carrier oil (like almond oil!)and never use them straight on your skin to avoid irritation. Here are some suggestions: 

Immortelle Flower oil is great for wrinkle prevention and rejuvenation! It can also brighten up dark circles and scars.
Jojoba is nourishing, and contains both anti inflammatory and anti microbial properties great for healing and treating acne prone skin.
Calendula Oil is brightening, soothing and filled with healing properties for overall healthy skin.
Lavender Oil is relaxing, smells great and can help reduce redness and inflammation.

PERK UP TIRED EYES

The two best things to soothe the eye area are cold cucumber slices and black tea bags! Try them both, back-to-back and you’ll see a difference. Keep a fresh cucumber in the fridge and when ready, cut a couple thick slices to lay over your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Next, take warm (not hot!) black tea bags and place them over your eyes for another 5 minutes. This is great to do while enjoying your bubble bath!

UPGRADE YOUR BUBBLE BATH

The recipe for the perfect bubble bath? Candles, music, tons of bubbles and… epsom salts! Soaking in an epsom salt bath is super relaxing and can also reduce soreness from an intense workout! That’s right. Just like with foam rolling, think of this as a must post leg & booty day!

As a plus, this type of bubble bath softens skin and some experts suggests epsom salts can also help detox your body. To get the full benefits, dissolve about 2 cups of Epsom salt into your bath and soak in it for at least 15 minutes.

COFFEE SCRUB 

We don’t just like to drink coffee, we use it in our beauty routine too! If you want to feel all kinds of silky soft, give our coffee scrub a go! As a major bonus, this can also help reduce the appearance of cellulite, thanks to the caffeine and antioxidants naturally found in coffee beans!

Here’s what you need:

1 1/2 cups of coarsely ground coffee
1/2 cup of raw sugar OR sea salt
3 Tbs of coconut or olive oil, melted

Directions: Mix salt or sugar and coffee grounds together until fully combined. Add oil and mix until the combination becomes a thick paste. Add more oil as needed to achieve your desired consistency. Apply to your skin after a warm shower or bath, making sure to rub mixture all over legs, booty and midsection. Use firm, circular motions and if desired, let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. Use a drain mesh to prevent the grounds from causing any plumbing problems!

  4. My sister and I have a girls night every Wednesday, we do facials, have some bubblie and no guys are allowed. It’s two hours of just the two of us relaxing and getting some pampering in. On Saturday evenings I usually do the epsome salt and bubble bath combo. It’s helped me recover from the week of training. Lastly, I got a membership at a local massage spot where I get one massage a month. Since I picked up weight training and running getting the sports therapy massages are heavenly. Completely worth the $50 per month membership. Teat yourself ladies!!

  5. I have a love/hate relationship with baths. I love the way they feel, but I get so cold so quick, lol. If I start with hotter water, then I burn my butt. haha! I love the beach clay masque! Its a great product.

  6. Whoah. I literally decided this morning to give myself a pamper kind of day. I took a bath, read a book, did a face mask, relaxed and was looking into coffee scrub for cellulite. How do they know?! :)

  7. I take an Lavender Epsom salt bubble bath w candles (and maybe a glass of wine:)) at least 3x a week! I swear it helps my constantly sore muscles.

  8. For a few years i have used baking soda with a dash of water on my face and body to get the best glowing skin ever. I use it after a shower and rub for a minute in good circular motion. If I’m in a big need I rub half a cut lemon over the baking soda too. It will fizz (and sting a little on some). The added lemon works amazing on the body and I use that on my face too, but try first on a small area if you have sensitive skin.
    After I do a face mask with honey for five minutes. My skin looks like a baby after this :)

  9. I also do an all over face/body coffee scrub from the left over coffee granuals mixed with a little olive oil and sugar. I live in Greece and i do the scrub by the beach when its empty and dive straight into the sea :) . I can highly recommend getting a moroccan scrub kit with a kessa glove and black soap. You will loose all your dead skin all over you body, its amazing. But if I still lived L.A I would pay the $50 and head to the Korean spa in Korea town and have a few hours at the spa with a scrub done for me, its probably my most favorite thing in the world, you’d feel so squeeky clean and relaxed.

  10. When you guys take epsom salt baths, do you ever shower before or after? If so, which is the best to get the full effects of the epsom salt? While baths are great for relaxing, I never feel quite as clean as I do after a shower. I’m a newbie to the epsom salts, so thanks! :)

  11. I went to a spa that is spring water. You run around to various hot tubs, saunas, pools, etc. that are different degrees of hot and cold. Some of it was salt water ( Epsom baths are the same thing). For a full week my eczema was gone. I highly recommend both. Of course Epsom baths are less expensive.

  12. Sounds great, now who wants to watch my boys while I relax?! For those who are wanting to incorporate essential oils into their coconut lotion be careful of which brands you choose. Most companies add fillers to their oils and have actual very little “oil” in their products which will cause the skin irritation or other health issues. I only use DoTerra oils they are certified pure and organic and its an amazing company all around. A great combo for relaxing is epsom salt, 2 to 3 drops of peppermint oil and 2 to 3 drops of wild orange, it smells AMAZING it’s invigorating and relaxing at the same time.
