Coffee Chat with K&K ~ How To Set Up a Morning Beauty Routine

Morning gorgeous! Hope you had sweet dreams and woke up feeling refreshed and inspired ✨

Did ya see our new skincare tutorials with our girl Ashley? You have to check them out HERE! Today Karena and I are talking more beauty and sharing our own morning routines. We always say that your morning is a special time to devote to YOU — and that includes beauty too. This is a chance to show yourself care and start your day feeling confident ~ you deserve it! Karena is so great about this and she’s inspired me to be more consistent with my routine! Let’s all take Miss Karena’s lead ;)

Beauty starts from the inside out, so we both begin our day sipping water first thing…BEFORE coffee! When you’re hydrated, your skin will be glowing and soft, plus you’ll have more energy and your metabolism will be boosted all day. Moisturizing is also KEY!!  Karena taught me how important it is to moisturize — I used to be afraid of it because you girls know I’ve always dealt with acne. Recently I switched up my beauty routine a bit too. I’m no longer using acne meds or Retin-A during my pregnancy. Now I use a gentle cleanser, vitamin C, and a deep moisturizer (we’re sharing some of our favorite products below!).

Tell us your beauty routine in the comments  ~ we want to know your tips and faves you’ve been using! And does anyone else worry they have crusty ears when they get a massage?! 😂

You can also watch on YouTube and Apple TV HERE!

Some of our fave morning beauty products ~

St. Ives Apricot Scrub ~ I use this every day to exfoliate.

* Coola Rosilliance Organic BB Cream ~ Karena has been loving this tinted moisturizer!

* Coola mini sunscreen ~ We never leave the house without sunscreen! We throw one of the mini ones in our sports bras too 😌

The Body Deli Green Detox Sea Salt Body Scrub  ~ Karena’s new favorite detoxifying body scrub!

* Tarte BB Cream ~ It’s hydrating and has SPF in it and it’s vegan too!

  1. OMG! I’ve dealt with acne for so long too. I also tried sooo many different products and then found St. Ives apricot scrub about 10 years ago too and have used it religiously! It is the lifesaver for anyone who deals with acne for sure!!

  2. I ALWAYS take off my makeup at the end of the night and wash my face with a face cloth. It’s honestly so simple and so many women don’t realize how important is to not go to sleep with a full face of makeup! I’m like you Karena, I get probably 1-3 pimples a year, and when I do get them, they are intense. Thank you babes for sharing this! I can’t wait for more in this series :)

  3. Hi Karena and Katrina,

I was wondering what should I do after I reach my goal to maintain the results? Could you do a post?

  4. Which vitamin c serum do you use? I know there’s some out there you have to dilute & some you don’t…not sure if one option is better than the other! Thanks! Love the video!! :)

  5. Lately I’ve been very particular about sunscreen and have been loving the Supergoop products! I use the Unseen Sunscreen which feels so light and soothing on my skin, and it has the consistency of a primer. I adore it. I also have acne prone skin so anything that doesn’t feel heavy or irritating on my skin every day is perfect for me. I also use the Supergoop CC cream which has an SPF, and their setting spray with SPF 50 for reapplying throughout the day (which I need to make a better habit of doing). Overall I like to keep it simple and prioritize sunscreen :) Thank you ladies so much! And Karena for the tip on moisturizing in the morning. I’m going to start doing that! xoxo

  6. What retinol and vitamin C serum do you use Katrina?! I have always dealt with acne and am always looking for new products to help with my skin and help me gain confidence. Thank-you! :)

  7. Katrina,

What RETINOL were you using for acne before your pregnancy? I always break out along my jaw line.

Also, what sponge/loofa do you use for the GREEN DETOX SEA SALT BODY SCRUB?

  8. I do a quick skincare routine every single night. Right now I’m using a Kiehl’s cleanser for combination skin that’s really nice and balances my skin. Then I do the Kiehl’s toner, and the Garnier Miracle sleeping cream for my night cream. I follow that with the matching Garnier sleeping eye cream. Mornings in the shower I do a rinse off, and 2-3 x a week I do an exfoliating peel from The Body Shop. Once a week I have a bubble bath with wine and do a mask. I am loving one from The Body Shop that’s a warming clay and ginger kind – it makes my skin feel so great.

  9. Since I’m pregnant and had to go off tretinoin and spironolactone (the latter is amazing if, like me, retinol don’t quite do the trick!), my dermatologist put me on clindamycin and an azeleiac acid face wash – this has been working really well! I only got a couple breakouts during my pregnancy and virtually none in my third trimester. :-)
